CBSE Class 10, 12 Correction Rules 2025 – What Students Need to Know

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced strict rules for Class 10 and 12 student detail corrections in 2025. Every year, many students face problems due to spelling mistakes in names, wrong dates of birth, or incorrect details in admit cards and mark sheets. To prevent this, CBSE has introduced specific correction windows with clear timelines and guidelines.

Why Are Corrections Important?

Your CBSE marksheet and certificates are official documents used for college admissions, government exams, passports, and even jobs. If there’s an error in your details, it can create long-term issues. That’s why CBSE now ensures that all student data is verified and corrected before results are declared.

Key Guidelines for 2025

Here are the most important things every student and school must know:

  • Correction Window Dates: April 9–17, 2025 (open for Class 10 and 12 students).
  • Portal for Correction: Corrections can be made only through schools on the CAMC portal. Students cannot apply directly.
  • Correction Fee: ₹1,000 per student for each correction.

Allowed Corrections:

  • Interchange of father’s/mother’s name
  • Photo correction
  • Date of Birth (with valid proof)
  • Gender correction
  • Single child status
  • Minor spelling mistakes in names

Not Allowed: Major name changes or change of category are not permitted.

Pre-LOC Verification for 2025–26

From the next academic session, CBSE has introduced an extra step: Pre-LOC (List of Candidates) verification.

  • Timeline: October 13–27, 2025
  • Purpose: Schools must generate a candidate-wise slip to verify names, subject codes, and demographic details.
  • Note: After this window, no corrections will be entertained.

Responsibilities of Schools and Parents

  • CBSE has made schools responsible for ensuring 100% accuracy of student data.
  • Schools must collect and verify documents (like birth certificate, Aadhaar, previous school records).
  • Parents must check and sign off on details before submission.
  • Incomplete or careless requests will be rejected by CBSE.

Tips for Students

✔ Double-check your name, DOB, and parents’ details as per official documents.
✔ Keep soft and hard copies of important certificates ready.
✔ Remind your school before the deadline to avoid missing the window.
✔ Do not wait until results are declared—by then, it’s too late.

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 correction rules 2025 are designed to make the process smooth and error-free. Students, parents, and schools must work together to ensure all records are correct well before board results are declared. A small mistake today can create big problems tomorrow, so take the correction process seriously.
