ISRO’s YUVIKA 2025: A Golden Opportunity for Class 9 Students to Explore Space Science

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has opened applications for YUVIKA 2025 (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram) – the Young Scientist Programme that gives Class 9 students across India a firsthand experience of space science and technology. This initiative is designed to nurture young minds, build scientific curiosity, and inspire the next generation of Indian space scientists and engineers.

🌠 What is YUVIKA?

YUVIKA is more than just a science camp. It’s a national-level residential programme where selected students get the rare chance to:

Interact with real ISRO scientists and engineers

Visit prestigious ISRO centers like SDSC-SHAR (Sriharikota), VSSC (Thiruvananthapuram), and URSC (Bengaluru)

Learn about satellite communication, space missions, rocket launching, and more

Participate in workshops, model-making sessions, quizzes, and hands-on experiments

Experience the thrill of real-world space science beyond textbooks

Launched in 2019, this program is part of ISRO’s larger outreach efforts under the "Jigyasa" initiative in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

👩‍🚀 Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to:

Indian students studying in Class 9 (as of 2024–25)

Students from both government and private schools

Students with a keen interest in science and strong academic records

Participation in science fairs, Olympiads, and other co-curricular science activities will add weight to your application

ISRO selects a balanced number of students from all States and Union Territories, ensuring equal opportunity for everyone, especially students from rural backgrounds.
